Cosmetic Dental Bonding
makes it easy to smile again!

Cosmetic dental bonding is a popular dental procedure that is used to conceal flaws in front teeth to create a uniform appearance that compliments your smile. If your front teeth are chipped or poorly shaped, you may be a candidate for dental bonding procedures.

What is Cosmetic Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding materials are mercury-free and are made of compressed plastic materials (composite resin). Sometimes called "white fillings", they are available in many natural-looking shades to match your teeth. Composite resin materials are specially designed to "bond" to enamel and underlying tooth surfaces, which helps to minimize or eliminate the need to remove or shape tooth structure to retain the restoration.

Dr. Davis will adapt the pliable resin material to your tooth and then harden it using a special light that activates the bonding process. After smoothing and polishing, your restoration will blend naturally with your other teeth.

Cosmetic dental bonding is well suited for:

  • Smoothing chipped edges of front teeth
  • Closing small gaps between teeth
  • Adding shape to a tooth that is too short or oddly formed
  • Repairing small areas of discoloration or early decay
  • Concealing slightly crooked or misaligned teeth

Cosmetic bonding is a conservative dental procedure that can address a number of minor tooth flaws. Tooth bonding materials are designed for small repairs, for more extensive tooth damage, it may be necessary to consider a dental crown or veneer.

During your consultation, Macon and Warner Robins dentist, Dr. Ryan Davis will talk with you about ways to enhance your smile appearance. Often cosmetic bonding is combined with teeth whitening and cosmetic porcelain veneers to create a whole new look!
